“When Three Become Four
It’s such a change for our babies
When three become four.
They wake up one morning
And they’re the baby no more.
They’ve had us all to themselves
for the whole life they’ve known.
And then, all of a sudden,
Their family has grown.
With those new arrivals,
Our expectation increases:
“You’re a big boy now, sweetheart,
Come help pick up the pieces.”
We can’t comprehend
How much their life has changed.
Everything that they’ve known
Has now been rearranged.
And they can’t yet express
All the thoughts in their heads.
So the tantrums now jump
To the forefront instead.
While we might feel frustrated,
It’s our role to remind:
“You are loved more than ever.
You’ll never be left behind.”
So, my darling, we need you
More than ever before.
And we’ll all grow together,
As this family of four❤️”
